Most couples sessions last 60 to 90 minutes, enough time to visit 2-3 locations and capture a wide variety of natural, relaxed moments together. In Athens you might start at an Acropolis viewpoint, wander through Plaka's old streets and finish at Anafiotika's island-style houses; on Santorini your photographer will route you through Oia's quieter corners before the sunset crowds arrive. The golden rule is to coordinate without matching — complementary colors and classic styles that reflect your personality. Solid, muted tones (cream, navy, sage, terracotta) photograph beautifully against Greece's whitewashed walls, blue domes and honey-colored stone. Avoid busy patterns, large logos and neon colors. Comfortable shoes matter: Plaka's marble-smooth lanes and Santorini's caldera steps are slippery, and island paths can be uneven. Bring a second outfit for variety on longer sessions, and a light layer for breezy island evenings. Golden hour — shortly after sunrise or before sunset — gives the most flattering, warm, romantic light. In Greece, sunset ranges from around 5:30pm in winter to 8:45pm in summer, so plan accordingly. Sunset sessions on Santorini's caldera and at the Temple of Poseidon on the Athens Riviera are legendary, but they're also the busiest hours; sunrise shoots give you Oia's blue domes or the Acropolis viewpoints nearly to yourselves. Midday works too in shaded old-town lanes, but the strong Greek summer sun needs an experienced photographer. The Portara — the marble gate of the unfinished temple of Apollo on its islet — the Venetian Kastro lanes above the harbour, the old town's arched passageways, the long sands of Agios Prokopios and Plaka, and the mountain villages of the interior, Halki with its neoclassical facades and marble-paved Apiranthos.

Golden hour at the Portara is the island's signature — the sun sets directly through the marble gate, and locals and travellers gather for it every evening, so your photographer will position you just off the axis where it stays calm. Mornings are best for the old town, when the lanes are cool and empty.
