Photoshoots in Pelion start from €279, with one- and two-hour packages up to around €450 depending on duration and the number of edited images. Because the villages are strung along a mountain, the longer package is the practical one: it leaves time to move between a village square, a balcony view over the gulf and a cove without rushing the drive.

Makrinitsa's main square, which looks straight down over Volos and the gulf; the plane tree square at Tsagarada, where the tree is old enough that the square was laid out around it; Damouchari, a pebble cove with a ruined tower and very clear water; and Milopotamos, the beach cut in two by a rock arch. The old stone packhorse bridges between villages photograph well too.

Late spring and early autumn. May and June are green and clear; September and early October keep the sea warm with softer light and far fewer people. The Aegean side is sharp and blue in the morning, while the gulf side above Makrinitsa is hazy at midday and glows in the late afternoon. Winter brings snow on the summit and closed beach tavernas.

More than the distances suggest. Makrinitsa to Tsagarada is roughly an hour and a half of tight, twisting mountain road, and the last stretch down to Damouchari or Milopotamos is steep and narrow. Plan one side of the mountain per session rather than both. Some beaches charge for parking or access in high season — check locally before you set out.

It depends on the photographer, and their Photo Greece profile states it explicitly — read the package description before booking. Photographers with their own studios include the space in the session price; those who rent third-party studios either build the cost in or list it as a separate line so you can choose the space tier. When comparing prices, compare the whole package: a session that looks €50 cheaper but adds studio rental on top isn't cheaper. If a quote is ambiguous, ask directly in the booking chat — 'is the studio included, and which studio is it?' — and you'll get a concrete answer with photos of the space. The practical limit is time, not a rule: in a 60-minute studio session, two to three outfits is the sweet spot — each change costs five minutes plus a lighting adjustment, and more changes than that eat into actual shooting. For headshot sessions, bring three tops in different tones against the planned backdrop and change only from the waist up in seconds. Portfolio and branding sessions that genuinely need four or more looks should book 90 minutes or two hours; your photographer will say so honestly when you describe the goal. Studio tip: bring everything pressed and on hangers, arrive in the simplest look, and start with it — the first fifteen minutes are warm-up frames anyway, and your strongest outfit deserves your warmed-up confidence.
