Most couples sessions last 60 to 90 minutes, enough time to visit 2-3 locations and capture a wide variety of natural, relaxed moments together. In Athens you might start at an Acropolis viewpoint, wander through Plaka's old streets and finish at Anafiotika's island-style houses; on Santorini your photographer will route you through Oia's quieter corners before the sunset crowds arrive. The golden rule is to coordinate without matching — complementary colors and classic styles that reflect your personality. Solid, muted tones (cream, navy, sage, terracotta) photograph beautifully against Greece's whitewashed walls, blue domes and honey-colored stone. Avoid busy patterns, large logos and neon colors. Comfortable shoes matter: Plaka's marble-smooth lanes and Santorini's caldera steps are slippery, and island paths can be uneven. Bring a second outfit for variety on longer sessions, and a light layer for breezy island evenings. Golden hour — shortly after sunrise or before sunset — gives the most flattering, warm, romantic light. In Greece, sunset ranges from around 5:30pm in winter to 8:45pm in summer, so plan accordingly. Sunset sessions on Santorini's caldera and at the Temple of Poseidon on the Athens Riviera are legendary, but they're also the busiest hours; sunrise shoots give you Oia's blue domes or the Acropolis viewpoints nearly to yourselves. Midday works too in shaded old-town lanes, but the strong Greek summer sun needs an experienced photographer. Sessions in Zagori start from €310, and one- to two-hour packages run to about €450 depending on length and the number of edited photos. The villages sit ten to forty minutes apart on mountain roads, so booking two hours rather than one is usually what makes a gorge viewpoint plus a stone bridge plus a village possible in a single session.

The Oxya viewpoint over the Vikos gorge, and the Beloi balcony above Vradeto for the same gorge from the other side. Papingo, under the bare rock towers of Astraka, for stone lanes and plane trees. The eighteenth-century packhorse bridges at Kipoi — the three-arched Kalogeriko and the single-arched Kokkoris. And the Voidomatis, clear and green, at the old bridge below Aristi.

Early morning for the gorge, when mist still sits on the floor and the eastern wall is lit; late afternoon for the villages and bridges, when the grey stone turns warm. May, June, September and October are the best months — wildflowers and full rivers in spring, colour in autumn. Winter is beautiful but roads and footpaths can be icy.
