Why Lefkada for Your Photoshoot
Lefkada is joined to the mainland by a causeway and a floating bridge, which makes it the one Ionian island with no ferry crossing to plan: Preveza's airport is about half an hour from the town. The west coast is the dramatic side — chalk cliffs dropping into water so bright it looks retouched, at Porto Katsiki, where a stepped path goes down from the clifftop car park, at Egremni, and along the long sweep of Kathisma. All three face west, so their light is a late-afternoon business, and the same westerly that lights them can also close them: on a windy day the west coast turns to swell and the shoot moves east. That eastern side is the gentle one. Nydri looks out on a scatter of small green islands — Madouri, Sparti, Skorpios — and the road climbing above the village frames the whole channel with sailing boats crossing it. In the south, Vasiliki's bay fills with sails every afternoon and the lighthouse at Cape Doukato closes the day over open sea.

The viewpoint needs no stairs; the beach means a stepped descent and a hard climb back. Car park fills by mid-morning in August. Unfenced clifftop and no shade.
Kathisma beach
A kilometre of west-facing sand under low cliffs, with cliff-top bars above it — the island's easiest sunset, and the one you can drive to.
Best time: The last hour and sunset, straight into open sea
Exposed to swell when the wind is up — the shoreline can be rough. The beach shelves steeply at the water. Walk north up the sand to get clear of the loungers.
Agios Nikitas village
One narrow lane of stone and bougainvillea running down to a small bay — the island's most photogenic village, and best on foot.
Best time: Late afternoon in the lane; the bay and Milos beach in the last hour
Cars stop at the top of the village — everything below is on foot, steep and cobbled. The path over to Milos beach takes fifteen minutes; a water taxi takes five.
The Nydri viewpoint

Small pull-offs on a live road: park fully clear and keep back from the edge. Boats leave Nydri from mid-morning, so the glassy water is an early frame.

Do we need a car for a photoshoot in Lefkada?

Access at Egremni has changed since the 2015 landslide took the old stairway, so ask your photographer how it stands this season rather than assuming.
