Packages differ by duration and the number of edited photos — one to two hours, roughly €279 to €450, covers Kalamata's old town and seafront, or Voidokilia and the ridge above it. Because the two ends of Messinia are an hour apart by car, a session that mixes them needs a longer booking.

Voidokilia's horseshoe of sand, seen from the path up to Old Navarino castle, is the frame most people book for. Pylos gives an arcaded square of plane trees above a working harbour, with the Neokastro fortress on the headland. In Kalamata itself, the lanes around the Ypapanti cathedral and the castle hill work best, and Polylimnio's waterfalls run in spring.

Voidokilia opens west, so the sand and the lagoon behind it hold colour right through sunset; the climb to the castle is better done in the cool of early morning. Kalamata's old town takes late afternoon, when the stone warms and the Taygetos ridge behind it goes blue. April to June and September to October are ideal; July and August are hot and busy.

Voidokilia sits inside a protected Natura 2000 dune system: no bars, no sunbeds, no road onto the sand, and walking off the marked paths damages the dunes. The castle above is an unguarded ruin reached by a rough thirty-minute climb, and sections are sometimes closed after rockfalls — check locally on the day and wear shoes with grip, not sandals.

It depends on the photographer, and their Photo Greece profile states it explicitly — read the package description before booking. Photographers with their own studios include the space in the session price; those who rent third-party studios either build the cost in or list it as a separate line so you can choose the space tier. When comparing prices, compare the whole package: a session that looks €50 cheaper but adds studio rental on top isn't cheaper. If a quote is ambiguous, ask directly in the booking chat — 'is the studio included, and which studio is it?' — and you'll get a concrete answer with photos of the space. The practical limit is time, not a rule: in a 60-minute studio session, two to three outfits is the sweet spot — each change costs five minutes plus a lighting adjustment, and more changes than that eat into actual shooting. For headshot sessions, bring three tops in different tones against the planned backdrop and change only from the waist up in seconds. Portfolio and branding sessions that genuinely need four or more looks should book 90 minutes or two hours; your photographer will say so honestly when you describe the goal. Studio tip: bring everything pressed and on hangers, arrive in the simplest look, and start with it — the first fifteen minutes are warm-up frames anyway, and your strongest outfit deserves your warmed-up confidence.
