Every photographer is reviewed and approved by hand before their profile goes live, and you book them directly rather than through an agency. Best time of year for a photoshoot in Greece
Spring · April–May
Wildflowers on the headlands, green hills that will be brown by June, and light that stays soft for most of the morning. The islands are waking up — tavernas reopening, ferries adding sailings — and Santorini and Mykonos are still walkable at midday. The sea is cold for swimming but photographs beautifully. Orthodox Easter moves each year and fills villages with processions and closed shops; if it falls inside your trip, book the photographer early.
Summer · June–August
The busiest and the harshest season: from about ten to six the sun is directly overhead and the light is flat and white, so sessions run at sunrise or in the last hour before dark. The Meltemi wind blows hard through the Cyclades in July and August — wonderful for hair and dresses, difficult for veils and hats. Santorini and Mykonos are at peak crowds and peak prices, and the good sunset spots are shared with everyone else.
Autumn · September–October
The best value of the year on the islands. The sea is at its warmest after a whole summer of heating, the light softens through September, and October evenings turn gold early enough to shoot without an alarm clock. Ferries keep close to summer schedules well into October, so island-hopping still works. Crowds thin week by week after mid-September and photographers' calendars open up — the same caldera view, without the queue for it.
Winter · November–March
Mainland Greece keeps working all winter. Athens is mild and bright, Nafplio's old town is at its emptiest and best, Meteora gets mist and sometimes snow on the rock towers, and the north coast of Crete stays green and warm enough for a beach walk. The islands are the opposite: on Santorini and Mykonos most hotels and tavernas close, ferry schedules drop to a few sailings a week, and a bad day of weather can cancel the crossing entirely.

- When is the best time of year for a photoshoot in Greece?
- April to early June and September to October are the two sweet spots: soft light, a warm enough sea, and islands that are open but not overrun. July and August still work, but only at sunrise or in the last hour of daylight — the midday sun is too hard for portraits. Winter belongs to the mainland: Athens, Nafplio, Meteora and the Cretan coast stay photogenic, while most island businesses are closed.
- How much does a photoshoot in Greece cost?
- A one-hour session starts at €279 all-in through Quick Booking. Most one to two hour packages on the site fall between €279 and €450, depending on the photographer, the place and how many people are in the frame. Wedding coverage is published separately: roughly €1,000–€1,250 for an elopement of two to three hours, and up to €2,000 and above for a full day. Longer sessions, extra locations and island boat time are quoted per package.
- How does Quick Booking work?
- You choose the region, the date, the occasion and how long you want, from €279 all-in. Your card is authorised straight away but only charged once a photographer is confirmed — we hand-pick one for you within 24 hours, and if nobody suitable is free you get the full amount back. After the match you message the photographer directly to agree the meeting point, the route and what to wear.
- Do I need a permit to photograph at the Acropolis or other archaeological sites?
- Greek archaeological sites are run by the Ministry of Culture and have their own rules for professional and commercial photography: tripods, lighting, long shoots and anything that looks staged can require written permission and a fee, while an ordinary hand-held session usually does not. Drones are separately restricted near archaeological sites and airports. Ask your photographer before the day and check the site's own rules — local photographers know which sites are relaxed and which are not, and plan around them.
- What happens if the weather turns or the ferry is cancelled?
- You reschedule. One free reschedule is included when you ask at least 48 hours ahead, and a move because of bad weather is always free for both sides — no penalty, no fee. Cancelled ferries are a real risk out of season, so message your photographer as soon as you know; the earlier the warning, the easier a new slot is to find. If the photographer has to cancel, you are refunded in full.
