Professional photoshoots in Mani start from €279. Packages differ by duration and the number of edited photos — one to two hours, roughly €279 to €450, covers Areopoli's lanes and Limeni bay, which are five minutes apart. Vathia and Cape Tainaron are much further south, so a session that includes them needs a longer booking to allow for the driving.

Limeni is the one everyone recognises: stone towers standing straight out of turquoise water, ten minutes below Areopoli. Areopoli itself gives flagstone lanes, carved doorways and arches. Vathia, further south, is the classic tower village on a bare ridge, and Cape Tainaron ends the peninsula with a lighthouse and sea on three sides. The Diros caves add a cool, dramatic interior.

Late afternoon, when the grey limestone turns honey-coloured and the towers throw long shadows. Limeni faces west across the gulf, so it holds light until the sun drops behind Messinia. Vathia and Cape Tainaron are exposed and glaring at midday. May, June, September and October are the sweet spots; summer afternoons are very hot and the wind on the cape can be strong.

More than the map suggests. Areopoli to Limeni is five minutes, but Vathia is about forty minutes further south and Cape Tainaron another twenty, on narrow roads with blind bends. The lighthouse itself is a forty-minute walk each way. Plan one direction per session, and check which tower houses are accessible: several in Vathia are private, ruined or fenced off.

For peak-season dates — May through October, and especially Saturdays on Santorini or Mykonos — book 6-12 months ahead. The best-reviewed photographers are often the first vendors to sell out after the venue itself. Shoulder-season and weekday weddings are far more flexible; three to four months is usually comfortable. If your date is closer than that, don't assume it's hopeless: availability shifts, and Photo Greece can check the whole vetted roster for your date at once instead of you emailing photographers one by one. When comparing, look at full wedding galleries rather than portfolio highlights — how a photographer handles a dim taverna dinner tells you more than their best ten frames.

Work backwards from the moments you can't lose. An intimate ceremony with dinner fits in 4-5 hours: preparations, vows, couple portraits at golden hour, first toasts. A classic full wedding day — getting ready through the first dances — runs 8-10 hours. Greek weddings tend to run long and warm up late; if your party will peak at midnight with plate-worthy dancing, budget coverage for it or arrange a set finishing time you're at peace with. One Greece-specific tip: schedule couple portraits around sunset, not the ceremony's end — in summer that golden window is what your photographer will plan the whole timeline around. Discuss your running order with your photographer and they'll recommend honest hours, not maximum hours.
