What moves the price in Athens
Length, and the 90-minute sweet spot. An hour covers Plaka and Anafiotika properly. Ninety minutes is the length Athens photographers sell most, and it adds a hilltop view. Two hours take you further: the old town at dawn, then Philopappou Hill or Kolonaki later.
The number of edited photos. Photo counts vary more than prices here. The typical hour delivers about 40 edited photos, the typical 90 minutes about 100 for €670, and the typical two hours about 45. An hour runs from €370 to €520, so read the photo count in each package before you compare prices.
The occasion. Couples, families and proposals book by the hour. Weddings and elopements are priced as half or full days: a half day from €920, typically €990 for about 150 photos; a full day from €1,265, typically €2,875 for around 500.
Season, heat and the hour. A package costs the same in January as in July, and a sunrise start costs the same as an evening one. But from June to August the midday heat on marble and rock is hard on everyone, so sunrise and the last two hours before sunset go first.
Group size. Up to eight people, the price does not move. From nine people up, most packages — and Quick Booking — cost 50% more.
Leaving the centre, and tickets. The Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion is more than an hour's drive each way, which turns a session into a half day. And the ticketed archaeological sites, the Acropolis first of all, charge an entry that no package includes — for you and for the photographer.

What is included in the price
- Edited, high-resolution photos in a private online gallery. Every package states how many and how soon; one to three weeks is typical.

Where the shoot happens
- Anafiotika. A pocket of whitewashed, island-style houses on the north-east slope of the Acropolis, built in the 19th century by builders from Anafi. At dawn the lanes are empty and the light is soft; people live here, so keep voices low.
- Plaka. Stepped lanes, bougainvillea and neoclassical houses below the Acropolis. Before nine the café chairs are still stacked and the lanes are yours.
- Philopappou Hill. Paved paths through the pines south-west of the Acropolis. At sunset the sun is behind you and lights the Parthenon; the rocks near the top fill up, so arrive early.
- Kolonaki. Elegant streets and stepped lanes on the slopes of Lycabettus, with neoclassical façades and cafés: a city look rather than a postcard one. Weekday mornings are quiet.
- The National Garden and the Zappeion. Shade, ponds and a grand colonnaded hall beside Syntagma — the easy option with small children or in July heat.
