Loggos harbour

Loggos is ten minutes north of Gaios and about a tenth of its size. The harbour is a tight semicircle of water with a stone quay running round it, tables at the edge, and small boats tied bow-to a metre from where people are eating. At the northern end stands the shell of an old olive-soap factory, a long stone building that gives the bay its one strong industrial line.

For photographs the scale is the point: everything is within one lens. Stand on the quay opposite the tavernas and the whole village fits a normal frame; drop to water level and the moored boats give you a foreground that changes with every step. A short walk up the hill behind gives a clean overhead of the harbour with the sea beyond.

The bay faces east-north-east, so the light comes over the water at sunrise, the quay stays warm until mid-morning, and the whole village is in shade by late afternoon. There is very little parking and the road along the quay is single-track — leave the car above the village and walk down. It is small enough that a session here should be quiet and quick rather than sprawling.
