Most couples sessions last 60 to 90 minutes, enough time to visit 2-3 locations and capture a wide variety of natural, relaxed moments together. In Athens you might start at an Acropolis viewpoint, wander through Plaka's old streets and finish at Anafiotika's island-style houses; on Santorini your photographer will route you through Oia's quieter corners before the sunset crowds arrive. The golden rule is to coordinate without matching — complementary colors and classic styles that reflect your personality. Solid, muted tones (cream, navy, sage, terracotta) photograph beautifully against Greece's whitewashed walls, blue domes and honey-colored stone. Avoid busy patterns, large logos and neon colors. Comfortable shoes matter: Plaka's marble-smooth lanes and Santorini's caldera steps are slippery, and island paths can be uneven. Bring a second outfit for variety on longer sessions, and a light layer for breezy island evenings. Golden hour — shortly after sunrise or before sunset — gives the most flattering, warm, romantic light. In Greece, sunset ranges from around 5:30pm in winter to 8:45pm in summer, so plan accordingly. Sunset sessions on Santorini's caldera and at the Temple of Poseidon on the Athens Riviera are legendary, but they're also the busiest hours; sunrise shoots give you Oia's blue domes or the Acropolis viewpoints nearly to yourselves. Midday works too in shaded old-town lanes, but the strong Greek summer sun needs an experienced photographer. Professional photoshoots on Symi start from €310. Packages vary by duration and the number of edited photos — a one to two hour session, roughly €310 to €450, is enough to work the Gialos waterfront, climb part of the Kali Strata and finish in Chorio. Adding Panormitis or Nimborios means travel time across the island, so book a longer slot.

The Gialos waterfront, where the ochre and blue mansions stack up behind the fishing boats; the Kali Strata stairway with its carved doorways and ruined shells; the clocktower at the harbour mouth; the lanes and ridge of Chorio above; the pebble-mosaic courtyard at Panormitis; and Nimborios bay, half an hour's walk north-west, for clear water away from the quay.

Early morning or the last hour of light. The harbour opens to the north-east, so it takes clean early sun and the day boats from Rhodes have not landed yet; between about eleven and three the quay is at its busiest. Late afternoon lights the western tier of houses and the Kali Strata. May, June, September and October are far kinder than the August heat.
