Most couples sessions last 60 to 90 minutes, enough time to visit 2-3 locations and capture a wide variety of natural, relaxed moments together. In Athens you might start at an Acropolis viewpoint, wander through Plaka's old streets and finish at Anafiotika's island-style houses; on Santorini your photographer will route you through Oia's quieter corners before the sunset crowds arrive. The golden rule is to coordinate without matching — complementary colors and classic styles that reflect your personality. Solid, muted tones (cream, navy, sage, terracotta) photograph beautifully against Greece's whitewashed walls, blue domes and honey-colored stone. Avoid busy patterns, large logos and neon colors. Comfortable shoes matter: Plaka's marble-smooth lanes and Santorini's caldera steps are slippery, and island paths can be uneven. Bring a second outfit for variety on longer sessions, and a light layer for breezy island evenings. Golden hour — shortly after sunrise or before sunset — gives the most flattering, warm, romantic light. In Greece, sunset ranges from around 5:30pm in winter to 8:45pm in summer, so plan accordingly. Sunset sessions on Santorini's caldera and at the Temple of Poseidon on the Athens Riviera are legendary, but they're also the busiest hours; sunrise shoots give you Oia's blue domes or the Acropolis viewpoints nearly to yourselves. Midday works too in shaded old-town lanes, but the strong Greek summer sun needs an experienced photographer. Photoshoots on Lesvos start from €310, and one- to two-hour packages run to about €450 depending on duration and how many edited photos you want. The island is large and the good backdrops cluster in the north and west, so agree the area first — the price covers the session, not a day-long tour of the island.

Molyvos, where stone lanes and terracotta roofs climb to a Genoese castle above the sea; Petra, with a rock in the middle of the village and the chapel of Panagia Glykofilousa on top; the petrified forest near Sigri, where fossil trunks stand where they fell; and Skala Eressos, a long west-facing beach of dark sand. Plomari's steep lanes are the quieter option in the south.

Midday is harsh everywhere except under the wisteria over Molyvos's main lane. May, June, September and October are the best months; August is hot, and the west of the island can be very windy year-round.
