After you book, you and your photographer plan the details privately over chat: the exact spot, the time, what you'll both be wearing, and a subtle signal for the moment you're about to kneel. On the day, the photographer arrives early and blends in — photographing the view like any tourist — while actually tracking you. The proposal itself is captured from a distance with a long lens, then the photographer reveals themselves and continues with a celebratory mini-session: the ring, the happy tears, the toast. Within days you receive a gallery that starts seconds before the question and ends with the two of you glowing. No — discretion is the whole craft. Greek landmarks work in your favour here: at a Santorini sunset or below the Acropolis, everyone is holding a camera, so one more photographer attracts zero attention. Your photographer will scout the spot beforehand, position themselves naturally, and never make eye contact with you until the ring is out. In hundreds of proposals arranged through our markets, partners almost never suspect a thing before the reveal — and the genuine shock on their face in the photos is exactly why this works so well. If you're especially worried, choose a busier spot or a photographer working with a longer lens; we'll advise on both.

Greece gives you better odds than almost anywhere in Europe — Athens and the islands see roughly 250-300 sunny days a year. Still, wind is a real factor on the Cyclades and winter storms do happen, so every proposal plan comes with a backup: an alternative sheltered location, a flexible time window on the same day, or a free reschedule to the next day if conditions are truly impossible. Overcast light is actually soft and flattering for photos, so a grey sky alone is no reason to panic — your photographer will talk you through the options the day before, and the decision always stays yours.

Photoshoots in Delphi start from €310. That covers a short session for a couple or a small family; one- and two-hour packages run to roughly €450 and differ by duration and the number of edited photos. A longer booking usually earns its money here, because the sanctuary and the stone village of Arachova are ten minutes apart and most people want both.

The terrace of the Temple of Apollo, with its six standing columns and the olive valley dropping away to Itea; the theatre just above it, which puts the whole sanctuary in the frame; and the Tholos at Athena Pronaia, the round building with three re-erected columns and a fraction of the crowd. Add the stone lanes and mountain terraces of Arachova for the second half.

The first hour after the site opens, or the last hour before it closes. The sanctuary faces south-west, so morning light rakes across the terraces and late light warms the limestone before the mountain shadow arrives. April, May, June, September and October are the good months; July and August are hot and busy by mid-morning, and winter can put snow on Parnassus.
