Bochali hill over Zakynthos town

Bochali is the hill village directly above Zakynthos town, and its small church square and café terraces work as the town's balcony: the harbour curls below, ferries slide in and out, and on clear days the mountains of the Peloponnese line the horizon across the channel. The pine-shaded walls of the Venetian castle sit just behind the square, their gate a short walk up.

Morning is the sharp-light alternative — the view faces roughly east over the town, so early sun comes in across the water and the haze is at its thinnest.
